A classic dessert wine from the Rhône

Domaine de Durban is a 57-hectare estate based around a magnificent 15th century fortified farmhouse that stands against a background of pinewoods and enjoys a panoramic view over the vineyards. The Domaine has been owned and run by the Leydier family since 1969 and is currently in the capable hands of Bernard & Jean-Pierre Leydier.

Very ripe grapes are fairly late harvested (early October), crushed and fermented at low temperatures. Fermentation is then arrested by a process of mutage; as a precise volume of pure alcohol is added to the wine to kill the yeast cell driving fermentation. This leaves some unconverted sugar and fortifies the wine, which is then bottled the following March.

The result is a heady wine with a beguiling bouquet of fresh white peaches and a succulent, sweet apricot palate with a fine acidity and lots of texture.

Local delivery

Local delivery is available within a 10 mile radius of the shop (NE8 2AJ) for a flat fee of £5. If you spend over £75, we will deliver for free.

We deliver Tuesday – Sunday. Order by 5pm for next day delivery, subject to stock availability. Need it faster? Order by 12pm for same day delivery, excluding Saturdays.

Collection

Free collection from the shop is always available, and you can collect any time during our normal opening hours. Please place your order by 11am on the day of collection, and collect within 7 days.

UK-wide delivery

We offer a flat-rate of £12 for UK delivery. If you spend over £150, delivery is free. Please note, as we are closed Monday and Tuesday, orders received over the weekend may not be shipped until Wednesday. Once dispatched, our courier aims to deliver next day.
