Victor Indigo November
Victor Indigo November is a wine shop and tasting room in Gateshead’s Railway Quarter, just across the High Level Bridge from Newcastle. Opened in 2023 by Charlotte and Lorrie Fenwick, the shop specialises in wines, cheeses and charcuterie from France.
Born out of a love of French wines, we quit our day jobs to open Gateshead’s first wine destination. Our shop stocks a large range of wines from France and around the world, most of which you won’t find elsewhere in the North East.
As well as the shop, Victor Indigo November has a bar where you can choose from our ever-changing wine list – made up entirely of French wines. We also offer wine flights – a great way to try a few different glasses, and perhaps discover a new favourite.

Wine Shop
Our shop stocks a large range of wines from France and around the world, most of which you won’t find elsewhere in the North East. Browse instore or shop online.
Wine Bar
Join us in the bar and you can choose from a range of wine flights, or pick from our current by the glass selection. We also offer cheese and charcuterie boards.
Cheese Deli
Our deli counter is stocked with fine French cheeses, such as Comté, Fourme D'Ambert and Brillat Savarin. We also stock a range of French provisions including terrines, patés and jams.
Wine Tastings
In 2026 we expanded into the neighbouring railway arch, creating the North East’s only dedicated wine-led events space. From here we can offer wine tastings, private hire, food pop ups and more.

We also offer cheese and charcuterie boards, from our well-stocked deli counter, to go alongside your wine. All of our cheeses come from France and represent the very best artisan fromagers, and are available to eat in or take home. You can expect to find classics such as Comté, Roquefort and Tomme de Savoie, as well as some harder to find cheeses such as Beaufort, Coulommiers and Brillat Savarin.
Whether you are a wine expert or a complete newbie, we offer an informal space to taste, learn and share knowledge.
And if that isn’t enough, we’re also dog friendly. Our own dog, Rayna, is usually in residence and has taken very well to shop life. She is the self-appointed Chief Greetings Officer, and takes her job very seriously. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome from her – come in and hear her infamous welcome howl for yourself.
