Cru Beaujolais from the region’s smallest appellation

Caves de Juliénas-Chaintré is a co-operative producing great value wines from right across the Beaujolais region, as well as Mâcon in Burgundy. Established in 1961, the Cave now represents around 190 growers. Their wines are very typical of the region, and represent great value.

Chénas is the smallest and the rarest of the Beaujolais Crus. On granite hillsides, the very sandy, lean soils allow only limited production, but of high quality. Similiar in style to wines from the neighbouring Cru, Moulin-a-Vent, you can expect a more robust style of Gamay. This is a textured Beaujolais, with notes of black cherry, blackcurrant and baking spices. On the palate, there are firm tannins and a floral finish.

Local delivery

Local delivery is available within a 10 mile radius of the shop (NE8 2AJ) for a flat fee of £5. If you spend over £75, we will deliver for free.

We deliver Tuesday – Sunday. Order by 5pm for next day delivery, subject to stock availability. Need it faster? Order by 12pm for same day delivery, excluding Saturdays.

Collection

Free collection from the shop is always available, and you can collect any time during our normal opening hours. Please place your order by 11am on the day of collection, and collect within 7 days.

UK-wide delivery

Wine orders: We offer a flat-rate of £12 for UK delivery on all wine or mixed orders. Food orders: We offer a flat-rate of £5 for UK delivery if your order contains food products only. If you spend over £150, delivery is free.

Please note, as we are closed Monday and Tuesday, orders received over the weekend may not be shipped until Wednesday. Once dispatched, our courier aims to deliver next day. Excludes Northern Ireland. Some areas of Scotland will incur a surcharge, please contact us to confirm.
