A fine and spicy style of Syrah from South Africa

False Bay Vineyards are an independent wine company in South Africa’s Coastal Region. They are proud to be a WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Biodiversity Champion and certified by WIETA (Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trade Association). All of their wines are vegan friendly. False Bay are also certified as part of South Africa’s sustainability accreditation, the ‘Integrated Production of Wine’ (IPW) system. The IPW scheme, started in 1998, consists of a set of audited guidelines specifying agricultural practices, manufacturing practices and bottling activities.

Old School Syrah is crafted by their talented young cellar master, Nadia Langenegger. Grapes are hand harvested, fermented using wild yeasts, and then raised in large wooden casks. A ripe spicy nose with bramble fruits and also some earth and meaty aromas. This is a structured and well balanced Syrah, with fresh red and bramble fruit character, gently spicy notes, fine tannins and an earthy finish.

Local delivery

Local delivery is available within a 10 mile radius of the shop (NE8 2AJ) for a flat fee of £5. If you spend over £75, we will deliver for free.

We deliver Tuesday – Sunday. Order by 5pm for next day delivery, subject to stock availability. Need it faster? Order by 12pm for same day delivery, excluding Saturdays.

Collection

Free collection from the shop is always available, and you can collect any time during our normal opening hours. Please place your order by 11am on the day of collection, and collect within 7 days.

UK-wide delivery

We offer a flat-rate of £12 for UK delivery. If you spend over £150, delivery is free. Please note, as we are closed Monday and Tuesday, orders received over the weekend may not be shipped until Wednesday. Once dispatched, our courier aims to deliver next day.

Excludes Northern Ireland. Some areas of Scotland will incur a surcharge, please contact us to confirm.
