Concentrated yet fresh Malbec from Patagonia

Due to climate change, most people have been seeking new ventures north, but winemaker Elías López Montero looked to Patagonia – the most southern wine region on the planet. There he found the right vineyard and winery to give shape to the project Verum Patagonia.
After tasting different grapes in the vineyard, Elías fell in love with the land named ‘Maria Victoria’ which coincidentally is his mother’s name. Just as he leaves the vineyard, he comes across a heart-shaped stone which now features on one of the wine labels. These coincidences
made it easy for Elías to name and design his first wine here. From that year on the project was born, with his first wine being María Victoria Malbec – becoming the first Spanish oenologist to make wine in Argentine Patagonia.

The grapes are fermented in a mixture of stainless steel and concrete, followed by aging in a mixture of French oak and concrete for around 8 months. This is a juicy Malbec, with great concentration of fruit balanced by freshness from excellent acidity. Notes of black fruit and liquorice.
