Rich Zinfandel blend from California

Filmmakers Francis Ford Coppola and Eleanor Coppola first entered the wine industry in the 1970s, when they purchased a part of Napa’s Inglenook winery in Rutherford. The Coppolas’ wine interests moved in two directions simultaneously: they developed both the Napa heritage property and its high-end wines, and their higher volume, value-priced brands and tourist destinations in Sonoma. Francis cemented his presence in Sonoma in 2006 when he bought the former Chateau Souverain winery and established a plethora of brands, including Archimedes and Diamond Collection.

This wine is a blend of 85% Zinfandel, and 15% Petite Sirah. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness and undergo gentle extraction for rich color and smooth tannins. Fermented cool, and then aged with select oak for enhanced aroma and texture – a labor of love from vineyard to bottle. Notes of caramel, strawberry, black pepper and vanilla. Medium-bodied, with sweet notes of blueberry and cherry on the long finish.
