Unoaked Chianti, for a fresher, juicy style

In the heart of Tuscany, in the Chianti Montalbano area, the Fattoria di Calappiano covers 200 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, forests and ancient villa, represents one of the historical and architectural treasures of the Medici family.

Made with 70% Sangiovese, along with other permitted grapes, the grapes are fermented for 10–12 days at controlled temperatures, followed by extended maceration and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks on fine lees for about six months with micro‑oxygenation to develop texture and soften tannins while preserving freshness and clarity of fruit. Notes of cherries, plums and hints of spice, complemented by subtle roasted coffee notes. On the palate the wine is juicy and lively, with vibrant acidity, soft tannins and a fresh, sapid finish marked by gentle balsamic and fruit‑driven length.
